When installing or operating the side-operated switch, do not apply more than the maximum force (29.4 N for 1 minute, once). Be sure to set the switch so that the plunger operates in a vertical line. If the plunger is pressed off center or at an angle, it may result in a shortened switch life.

Do not use unsealed tact switches in dusty environments. Doing so may cause dust to enter the inside of the switch and cause poor contact. If an unsealed switch must be used in this environment, protect it from dust with foil or other measures.
