Product Description
HPR - High Precision Rectangular Air Bearings are available for precision motion system applications. Their versatility can solve even the most complex problems. Thanks to air bearing technology, Mager air bearings overcome the limitations of sliding and rolling bearings. A thin, hard layer of air is distributed over the air bearing functional surface through nozzles and microgrooves, and is forced between the two surfaces. The slightest air gap layer formed between them is only a few thousandths of a millimeter thick, which acts as a lubricant with an extremely low coefficient of friction. By eliminating the limitations of oil-based lubrication, Mager planar air bearings can achieve high speeds and accelerations with the utmost precision and operating efficiency. Mager Air Bearings are available in Flat Rectangular and Round styles and are made of hard anodized aluminum with adjustable screw pins, locking ring nuts and anti-rotation pins (P -KIT fittings). The air gap between the air bearing and the main surface can be adjusted by an adjustable screw pin, and the locking ring nut fixes its position, avoiding dangerous movement. |
