Selecting Depth Detection
Depress and hold “ON” button once (1x) to select to 1/2” read depth detection. The 1/2” indication will illuminate. The unit will then calibrate, followed by a beep.
Depress and hold “ON” button twice (2x) to select to 1” read depth detection. The 1” indication will illuminate. The unit will then calibrate, followed by a beep.
Depress “ON” button three times (3x) to select 1-1/2” read depth detection. The 1-1/2” indication will illuminate. The unit will then calibrate, followed by a beep.
Unit will automatically shut-off ON button is released following steps 1,2,3 above.

Detecting Wood Studs
Slide the unit across the surface in a straight line. When the stud edge is detected the wood indicator and the bar will be shown as illustration? And the unit will sound a continuous beep.
Continue sliding past the stud. When the indicator turn off and the unit stops beeping the other edge has been detected.
Double check stud location by coming back from the other direction. Make additional markings.
The midpoint of the marks indicates the stud center.

Detecting Live Wires
Begin by placing the scanner at some position away from hot wiring. While holding in the on/off button, slowly slide unit across the wall. AC indicator will appear on LCD if a hot wire is nearby.
The scanner detects from 90V to 250 V at 50 to 60 Hz AC in a HOT electrical wire. The voltage detection feature works continuously in all modes for safety.
