Yes, while most of our hoods come with built-in latches (depending on whether your stock hood has built-in latches), hood pins are required for your own safety. 3. What is "Grade A" carbon? There is no official standard grading for carbon fiber products, and due to the way carbon fiber products are made, the quality can vary widely between brands, so manufacturers have started calling their products "Grade A" to emphasize the quality of their products. But that's just a common term for advertising. 4. How to judge the quality of carbon fiber products? 1. Is the product made of one piece of carbon, or is it multiple pieces put together? 2. Is it a gel-paint or a varnish? 3. Is the carbon sheet wrapped around the skeleton, or is it integrated with the mold? All of our products are made with a one piece carbon piece, so you won't see broken wires and patterns. All our products use a clear coat finish. Varnishes are glossy, durable, and they give you a nice "wet" look rather than the dull look of a gel coat. All of our carbon plates are built into the mold so they don't break and split like carbon plates that just wrap carbon around the skeleton. 5. What are the advantages and disadvantages of "dry carbon" and "wet carbon"? Dry vs wet involves completely different manufacturing processes. If you do a general search, you can find plenty of articles on the web with details. As for the pros and cons, here's a quick summary: Simply put, dry carbon is best for RACE USAGE so you can get the most strength and save the most weight. Weave and quality are more consistent, but they are usually 3 to 4 times more expensive than wet carbon. Wet carbon products are hand laid or vacuum infused and are more prone to small defects such as wavy weaves and tiny air bubbles. They don't save weight like their dry carbon counterparts. But on the plus side, you get an incredible combination of visual appeal, weight savings, and most importantly, price. Wet carbon products are the most popular and most often referred to as "carbon fiber". 6. What kind of warranty do you have? We have a 6 month limited varnish warranty and we guarantee accessories for all US models unless we specifically state otherwise. We test all parts for fit before selling. But customers need to understand that there is no aftermarket body part that will fit like an OEM. This is normal and you need to fine tune it very well. Having said that, we are very confident that our products are the best accessories in the aero styling market. Our warranty only applies to vehicles that do not have any bodywork finished. As a precaution, please test all parts before 7. How do I maintain my product? Your carbon fiber product is built to last, but it still needs care and maintenance to keep it looking good. More specifically, keep the product clean, minimize exposure to sunlight, and wax if necessary. Especially with carbon fiber hoods, it is important to use a heat shield under the hood to avoid premature aging. All Dry-Carbon products are sold in RAW and consumers must protect the product upon receipt. 8. My product was shipped to me damaged. what should I do? Your product can be shipped to you from your reseller or directly from JSKracing. We inspect and double pack each item before shipping. However, due to the size of most items, handling can be awkward and sometimes cargo crews don't handle them with care. We must count on the consignee to check the condition of the product upon receipt. If you note all damage on the delivery receipt (which you should) then you can file a claim with the shipping company. You can also contact your dealer to obtain supporting documents from us if required by the shipping company.
