CWDM refers to Coarse Wavelength Division Multiplexer, CWDM MUX DEMUX modules transmit up to 18 different wavelengths on a single fiber with 20nm pitch in the ITU-T CWDM grid standard of 1270nm to 1610nm.
The CWDM MUX DEMUX module utilizes traditional thin film filter (TFFS) technology, the CWDM MUX DEMUX is available in a variety of configurations to enable multi-wavelength add/drop, and most CWDM devices can be designed to transmit over duplex fibers or bi-directionally over a single fiber network transfer up. Today's CWDM MUX DEMUX modules are available in ABS, LGX, 19" 1U rack-mount packages, which are easy to deploy in critical environments, while providing high-definition solutions for WDM networks and extending existing CWDM capabilities.
