An English wheel, also known as a roller machine in the UK, is a metalworking tool with which a craftsman can form compound (double curvature) curves from a flat sheet of metal such as aluminum or steel.
The process of using an English wheel is called tumbling. Its key advantage is the flexibility to produce different panels using the same machine. It is a forming machine that works by surface stretching and is related in action to the paneling process.
