Product Description
The Cam-Loc Progressive Cavity Pump (PCP) Anchor combines proven cam-lock action with an independent slide activation mechanism. Additional bypasses allow for additional flow area and prevent sand bridges around the tool. Specialized coatings are available to prevent corrosion or scaling and reduce erosion.
Operation:
Cam-Loc anchors use separate slips and drag blocks to eliminate premature slip wear during installation. As the slips run in the bore, the spring retracts the slips into the body. The drag block centers the tool and provides frictional interference to deploy the slips when torque is applied.
When torque is applied, the cam profile moves under the slips and forces them outward. The cam drives the slips into contact with the casing ID. Large, vertical teeth grip the sleeve securely, preventing clockwise rotation while still allowing the vertical movement of the tube to expand or contract.
Using separate slips and drag blocks provides greater cross-sectional area for each component, which translates into more area for load distribution in each section. The result is less wear on the slips, drag blocks and casing ID, resulting in increased service life.
application
Applications requiring protection of pump components from rotation.
