All dielectric self-supporting optical cable, consisting entirely of dielectric materials, containing necessary support systems, and can be directly suspended on non-metallic optical cables on power towers.
PE sheath: ordinary polyethylene sheath. Used for power lines below 110KV.
AT sheath: Anti electric trace sheath. Used for power lines above 110KV. The required support system and non-metallic optical cables that can be directly suspended on power towers.
(1) Specially designed for power systems, it is a fully insulated self-supporting overhead optical cable with no metal materials in its structure;
(2) The fully insulated structure and high voltage resistance index are conducive to the installation and construction of overhead power lines with live operation, without affecting the operation of the lines;
(3) The use of high tensile strength anti fiber materials can withstand strong tension, meet the requirements of large span of overhead power lines, and prevent bird pecking and human shooting;
(4) The thermal expansion coefficient of ADSS optical cable is relatively small. When the temperature changes greatly, the curvature of the optical cable line changes very little, and it is lightweight, with less ice and wind load.
The national standard for ordinary optical cables clearly stipulates the mechanical strength that optical cables with different usage methods (such as overhead, pipeline, direct burial, etc.) should have. ADSS optical cable is a self-supporting overhead optical cable, so it must not only withstand the long-term effects of its own gravity, but also be able to withstand the baptism of the natural environment. If the mechanical performance design of ADSS optical cables is unreasonable and not suitable for local weather, there will be safety hazards in the cables and their lifespan will be reduced. Therefore, each ADSS cable project must be based on the natural environment and span of the cable routing. The installation span of ADSS can reach 1800 meters/block, with high voltage resistance, good resistance to electrical corrosion, and lightning protection. It can be laid on transmission line towers with a voltage level of 500kV and has strong resistance to bullet strikes. Generally, shooting with a sand gun at a distance of 10 meters will not cause any fault damage to the cable. It also has strong low-temperature resistance and environmental adaptability. Fiber optic cables are laid independently without relying on transmission lines, making construction and maintenance more convenient, and do not require power outage operations. Fiber optic cables are also relatively inexpensive.
